Lady Gaga Makeup Looks For New Single & VMAs

Lady Gaga - People Magazine

Lady Gaga's recent makeup looks are generating quite a bit of buzz.  The cover for her hit new single "Applause" from the upcoming album Artpop, is a facial close-up of the star made up in colorful face paint, reminiscent of some abstract expressionist painting. In true Gaga style, she didn't stop with the cover.  The makeup was replicated in the song's video, along with several other theatrical face painted looks.  Gaga then took the look from art to life.  She has been sporting a more toned down version of the cover makeup out on the streets as she promotes the single.  And last but not least - her Video Music Awards performance, where she magically applied the face paint makeup mid performance!

Whether you want to recreate the more subtle look for a night out or your own fashion shoot, or are eyeing the cover art for your Halloween costume, we have put together some tips on how to recreate these memorable Lady Gaga Makeup Looks!

To achieve this dewy cover look follow these simple makeup steps:

1. Start by applying Mehron's Paradise Makeup AQ in White all over the face.

2. Then apply iNtense Pro Pressed Powder Pigment in Ocean Breeze to the eyebrows.

3. Next add some iNtense Pro Pressed Powder Pigment in Hurricane and Carbon to the bottom of the eyes, then smudge with E.Y.E Cream in Deep Blue and Jet Black.

4. To finish off the look, use some E.Y.E Cream in Yellow for the top left lip, followed by L.I.P Cream in Zinnia and Autumn Sun, then smudge.

For Lady Gaga's Everyday Applause Makeup Look simply:

1. Apply a light StarBlend Cake Makeup in White or Celebre Pro HD two shades lighter than your natural shade all over the face.  Follow with a dusting of Celebre Pro HD Loose Mineral Finishing Powder.

2. Then apply E.Y.E Cream in Creamy Beige to the eyebrows.

3. For the face color smudges, add E.Y.E Cream in Light Blue, Deep Blue, Dark Olive Green, Light Chrome Green and Yellow.  Add accents of Red and Pink with L.I.P Cream in Cotton Candy and Big Apple.

4. Apply L.I.P Cream in Poppy to the lips.

5. Finish with an application of Mascara Pro to the top lashes.

The VMAs makeup couldn't be easier - just apply Fantasy FX in Black, Red and Yellow with your fingers and smudge!
