Special Effects Makeup Artists And Mehron - Relationships That Last

Posted by Unknown

Mehron's performance roots travel back to 1927 when Mehron Melik founded the company to meet the needs of performers in theatre, vaudeville, burlesque, opera, ballet and silent films.  Our commitment to providing outstanding performance makeup continues to this day and we are extremely proud that our products are relied on by industry professionals across the globe.  Over the course of time, performance makeup products have evolved.  Mehron not only evolved with them, but became the trusted industry leader.  Today we have a full line of performance and theatrical makeup and accessories as well as face and body painting, clown, beauty, and our highly acclaimed special effects products.  Some amazing special effects makeup artists have been along with us for the journey.  We would like to congratulate Facades FX on their Silver Anniversary.

Award Winning Special Effects Creature And Makeup Company

For the last 25 years, Phil Nichols and his team of Facades FX designers have been bringing their old school professional work ethic and amazing talents to motion pictures, television, video and live theatre.  Phil recently shot us an email letting us know that they have used Mehron products in EVERYTHING they have ever done!  Although he thanked us for helping them reach their silver anniversary, it is Mehron that is honored to have played a part in their success.  You have to watch their 25th Anniversary Production Reel and see their work and the breadth of genres they have been involved with, such as the motion picture Arlington Road and the horror movies Boggy Creek and Pshychic Experiment.

These Special Effects Makeup Artists' Accolades

Facades FX has won the 2013 Platinum Remi for Best Makeup and Special Effects Design for their work on the horror short Legend of Goatman at the 46th Annual Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival where they used Mehron's Fantasy F-X Makeup, Mask Cover, and Stage Blood.  Check out this INCREDIBLE behind the scenes video:

They also received the 2011 Gold Remi for Best Special Effects Makeup for Renfield: The Undead.

Recently Phil directed and did creature effects for a stage production of Frankenstein, that he hopes to make into a feature film.  Below is a video of those fabulous effects, where Mehron's products were his foundation for the creature's effects.  He used Mask Cover for the prosthetics and Fantasy F-X Makeup for the body paint for the creature.  Tooth F-X Special Effects Tooth Paint, Fantasy F-X, and intense Color Cups were used on the other characters in the production as well.

Congratulations to Phil and the Facades FX team!  We wish you many more years of success!  And thank you for being such a loyal customer - we truly appreciate it.
